The next part of our 200-hour yoga teacher training is October 15-25, 2017. It’s our Fall 100-Hour Training, which is Level 2 of our Spring training. Further your personal practice and refine your understanding of Yoga. This Yoga Alliance registered 200-Hour yoga teacher training in Jackson Hole, Wyoming will provide you with an in depth study of Vinyasa Yoga, Pranayama, meditation, anatomy, subtle body theory, yoga philosophy, the therapeutic applications of yoga, modifications and adjustments, and finding your voice. This training is intended for anyone who is ready to move deeper into the practice of yoga as well as anyone interested in learning how to teach yoga. As Baba Hari Das always says, “Teach to Learn.”

Learning objectives of the teacher training:
Anatomy of Yoga Postures
Students will learn how to accurately see bodies so they can identify misalignments and congestion to safely assist students to erase dysfunction that causes pain and unnecessary discomfort. Students will learn how to safely and effectively practice and teach: Surya Namaskara A & B, Standing Poses, Seated and Supine Postures, Inversions and Arm Balances, and Backbends.
Through discussion and practice the student will learn how to safely and intelligently sequence yoga classes.
Modifications and Adjustment
Through observation, demonstration and practice students will learn how to modify and adjust postures verbally and physically.
Students will learn anatomy of the skeleton. Locate organs, anatomy of respiration. Discuss and locate muscle groups and bones of the shoulder, pelvis, spine and legs. Learn to apply this knowlege to the function and biomechanics of the asanas and to avoid injuries.
Through discussion and practice this section will cover the main chakras in the body and how they correspond to our endocrine organs, nerve plexi, emotions and thought patterns. Utilize the chakra system as a way to assess physical and emotional imbalance.
Anatomy and Physiology of Breathing
Students will gain understanding on how the breath works in the body, muscle groups involved and energetics of breath and bandhas. Understand why and how the breath is central to Yoga practice.
Pranayama and Meditation
Every morning we begin practice with pranayama and meditation. Students will learn the Four Purifications and other pranayama techniques to balance the nervous system. We will explore and practice various meditation techniques.
Yoga Philosophy and Psychology: The Jewels of Yoga
We will study Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra through discussion, mantra and meditation. We will learn the deeper meanings of the definitive text of yoga through breaking down these pearls of wisdom beyond their rudimentary translations. We will use the Yoga Sutras as a vehicle to circumvent the confusion, doubts and obstacles that arise through the process of Yoga as we navigate the multiple layers of our psyche.
This section of our training focuses on giving the student an opportunity to practice teaching in a safe and supportive environment. We dedicate significant time to practicing adjustments, verbalizing and instructing postures one on one, in small groups and in larger group settings.
