Yin w/ A Bit of Yang Yoga Series with Mike McLaughlin
Join Mike McLaughlin for a chill six week early evening yin yoga practice. The emphasis will be on nurturing oneself while avoiding any competitive urges that may arise. Your class will start with meditative breathwork which will pace you through both passive and active asanas. Yin poses will be held for three to five minutes while targeting deep connective tissues. With the joints as our focus, it will also be a practice of finding our edge and reaching a meditative state in our poses.
The class will also include a bit of movement with some standing yang poses to warm up and find balance. We may flow through some ashtanga action or even bust out a little Qi gong. At any rate, the pose of the child will rule. Enjoy the pleasure of YIN!
About Mike McLaughlin
Mike has discovered that the practice of yoga IS what it’s all about. Whether enhancing athletic performance, creating mindful awareness, healing the body or just having fun, yoga provides the balance to survive and be happy.
It was on Maui during the summer of 1994 when Mike first started practicing under yoga teacher Nadia Toraman. He completed the 200-hour yoga teacher certification in Jackson, WY in 2016 under the guidance of Angela Tong and Adi Amar, among others.
Mike has found that his yoga practice nicely complements his lifestyle as a teacher of windsurfing, surfing, SUPing, snowboarding and more.His long term goals focus on bringing yoga and recreation into people’s lives in Jackson Hole and beyond. Learn more about Mike HERE.
