Erika Stevens has been practicing yoga since she was a sophomore in college at the University of Vermont in 1997. After moving to Jackson in 2000, she regularly practiced yoga with her teacher, Neesha Zollinger, focusing on the alignment-based Anusara yoga for many years.
Her first Teton Yoga Shala class was a prenatal yoga class in 2010 when she was pregnant with her first child. Twins six years later have kept her quite busy as a stay-at-home mom for the last 12 years. Her yoga practice has been a personal refuge during her many years of raising young children with her husband Anthony, and it has also allowed her to find deep healing for her spinal irregularities caused by a leg length difference.
Years of yoga practice have led Erika to believe that yoga really is for every Body. She is energized by the constant evolution and learning that comes along with a regular asana and meditation practice. When she is not practicing yoga or hanging out with her kids, she can be found playing tennis or reading a good book. She recently completed a 100-hour vinyasa teacher training with her teachers Ainslie Mintz and Adi Amar, and she looks forward to teaching others the vinyasa practice that has been an integral, healing part of her life.
