Yoga Teacher

Erica Hunter

Erica has been practicing many styles of yoga since discovering it as an angsty teenager, from Ashtanga to acroyoga, Yin Yoga, and Iyengar. She got her 200-hour Kripalu RYT certification from Deva Parnell and Discovery Yoga in St. Augustine, FL in 2008 and has been practicing and teaching all over the country since then, from Hawaii to Vermont, New York to Boston.

Erica is also a dancer and a physical therapist at Peak PT in Wilson, and has worked many other jobs in many arenas, from the service industry to landscaping and snowboard instruction. She believes that the practice of yoga should be available to all, whether this is your first class or you have been practicing for decades. She has worked to create accessible and varied yoga classes for long-term oncology patients, schoolchildren, and dancers, among others. Breath (pranayama), mindfulness, and self-compassion are at the center of her teaching, with a hefty dose of fun and freedom to explore your own variations of postures as safely as possible.

From group classes to private and semi-private instruction, she wants to help you feel at home and strong in your practice, whatever that means for you!
